The Research

The Productivity Enhancement and Health & Vitality CDs are the result of research that Pamlyn Kelly completed for her doctorate.

Merging her business and psychology experience, Pamlyn Kelly developed a way to enhance productivity, personal health and vitality.

She knew that relaxation and visualization had helped athletes be more successful. She wanted to apply that idea to the complex world of business transactions.

Pamlyn did her research with more than 50 salespeople in the San Francisco Bay Area. She started with a "productivity history" of each participant for the previous six months and tracked them for 120 days after the training.

The participants experienced a 53% improvement in productivity across-the-board. They found they could easily stay relaxed and be more productive.

And the results were long-lasting. Months later, participants in the study continued to be the high achievers in their companies. Even years after the study, they continue to use the CD to increase their success even more.

Productivity Range

All of us have a personal zone of success where we stay relaxed and productive. In that state, we calmly and efficiently perform within our range of maximum effectiveness.

This is an index of each individual comfort zone. One range is not better than another.

The important thing is to identify your range and to stay within it as much as possible.

Identifying your productivity range requires honesty and self-knowledge. How much stress can you handle and still be effective? Alternatively, how much stress do you need to be effective? We encourage you to take the Performance Quiz to help you identify your most productive zone. Then come back to this page to see where you are on the chart.

The Three Basic Productivity Ranges

Range 1

People in this range tend to dislike distractions from tasks. These low-energy individuals tolerate some stress, but find too much stress counter-productive. If they have too many deadlines or projects, they tend to develop stress symptoms.

Range 2

People in Range 2 become more productive with moderate stress. These medium-energy people mobilize to complete tasks. The majority of the population falls within this range.

Range 3

This range represents the multi-taskers, high-energy people who need multiple stresses to be productive. This group, sometimes called "adrenalin junkies," responds well to pressure. Removing most of their stress significantly reduces their productivity. They slip into "slug" status.

No one group is better than any other. We must all find our own range for stress tolerance.

During the day, it is good to monitor yourself, using a scale of zero to 10. Zero is having no anxiety and 10 is being "off the charts." When you get to a 5, stop what you are doing and change the scenario. Use the "relaxation key" (taught in the CDs) to bring yourself back to the state where you are most productive.
